Arturo Bris: The Global Financial & Economic World after the Corona Crisis.
Arturo Bris' first hat is that of a finance professor. His areas of expertise include international aspects of financial regulation, particularly the impact of bankruptcy, short selling, insider trading and merger laws. Arturo Bris has also researched and lectured on the impact of the Euro on the corporate sector and the valuation impact of corporate governance changes.

Arturo Bri's most recent project in this field resulted in 2018 as co-author in the book Blockchange!: How to Survive the Crypto-Economy, which gives a clear overview of the world of Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, as well as how Blockchain can change our (economic) world for the better.
Arturo Bris' second mandate at IMD is that of Director of the World Competitiveness Center (WCC).
In 2019, the WCC has been ranking the competitiveness of countries annually for 30 years. Under Arturo Bris' leadership, the WCC has expanded its annual work to include the IMD World Talent Ranking and the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking. In 2020, the WCC will publish a Smart City Ranking in partnership with the Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD). A first result of this project is the book "Sixteen Shades of Smart: How Cities can shape their own future". This book examines how 16 cities are addressing a number of critical areas ranging from urban planning, sustainable energy and transportation strategies to social inclusion and talent attraction, to name a few.
In addition to leading the center, Arturo Bris also conducts research on the relationship between income inequality, social mobility and competitiveness.
Recent projects include the 2019 co-authored book, Flex or Fail: The Future of Work and Pay, which examines the economics of labor markets and competitiveness and addresses the problems faced by individuals facing significant changes in their lives.
Arturo Bris' third hat is that of award-winning teacher and program director.
In addition to his regular involvement in IMD's MBA and EMBA programs, Arturo Bris directs the Strategic Finance program and several customized programs for organizations operating in various industries with a special interest in the financial sector.
Arturo Bris holds an MBA from CEMFI (Foundation of the Bank of Spain) and a PhD from INSEAD. He joined IMD in 2005 from the Yale School of Management where he was Robert B & Candice J. Haas Associate Professor of Corporate Finance.
Arturo Bris is a member of the Strategic Committee of Debiopharm International SA, the International Advisory Board of the Wealth Management Institute and the International Advisory Board of CENTRUM Graduate Business School. He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IMD Pension Fund Foundation and is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Kiev International Business Forum and the Lausanne International School. Since 2019, Arturo Bris is also Academic Advisor of the Blue Whale Foundation, a decentralized ecosystem that enables self-employed people to develop by receiving a fair share of value creation.
